At present a holiday home, this attractive cottage is tucked away at the end of lane where you can unpack your bags, open a bottle of wine and enjoy a bit of peace overlooking the surrounding fields. Ideal for holidays or a permanent home. Modern comforts with traditional features – the best of both.
I entered directly into the fitted kitchen with beams and colourful tiled floor. The decor is clean and bright. The room to the right has a lovely flagstone floor and is used as a formal dining area. Beyond the kitchen is a hallway with more flagstones that leads to the back door and access to the parking area and rear garden. The spacious lounge has a fitted gas fire, (the flue could be adapted for a wood-burning stove) should you wish to change it. Upstairs are three double bedrooms, the master has a shower fitted in one corner. All the décor, including that of the large, tiled bathroom is fresh and neutral. The white walls showing off the dark wood beams to their best.
The house has a lawn and parking area behind it, accessed down a farm track. There are some stone sheds to the side, one housing the oil fired boiler. There is a bread oven and further store sheds in front of the house and beyond this is a private lawn and lovely views over the valley.
The property is five minutes from a bakery and a small bar. Usson is little further and has everything for your daily shopping needs. The market town of Civray on the river Charente is 20 minutes away. Poitiers can be reached in under an hour for international air and train links. ©
