This well priced property has been a holiday home for the past ten years and is now waiting for its new owners to take advantage of the potential space offered to increase the living area. However, you may just prefer to enjoy life in a friendly French hamlet and live simply in this hamlet hideaway like the present owners have enjoyed doing.
The house has two principal rooms on the ground floor. The first is an open plan kitchen lounge with newly fitted units and a wood burning insert stove in the fireplace which takes hot air through vents to other rooms in the house. Next to this is the double bedroom, which, like the living area, has exposed ceiling beams. Then there is a basic shower room and separate toilet next to a corridor leading into the large attached barn. Depending upon your needs, you can either continue to live in the existing space, with just a bit of updating to do; or extend into the barn and take advantage of all the potential there. You can continue to live in the habitable part of the property whilst you extend. There is also access to an upstairs attic area, although the head height is a little limited here. The barn is divided into two parts, so if you do expand you still keep one barn for storage and parking.
As well as the attached barn there is a small stone shed. The south west facing garden is a real sun trap and hedging allows you some privacy. There is enough room here to put a new septic tank in, which will be required by the new owners.
The hamlet is a short drive to village with shop and a restaurant. The market town of Civray on the river Chrarente is about fifteen minutes drive away for all your weekly shopping needs and places to eat out. The historic city of Poitiers is an hour away with its international airport links, big city shops, restaurants etc. ©
