This is one of those properties that whatever I write is going to sound like an exaggeration - but it is all true. A truly amazing house and location; if you want views, land, trees, a feature pool, running water (its own natural spring) and tranquillity then you are in the right place.
The house has been converted and modernised to an exceptionally high standard without losing those authentic touches (exposed stone walls, beams, panelling etc), You can enter via the portico porch and front door into the hallway and the snug "TV" room, or via the back door into the fully fitted, equipped kitchen. In the entrance hall is the most magnificent craftsman built staircase I have ever seen - and he even built a matching hall table (not included in the sale). From the hallway you enter the formal dining room/living room with wonderful views over the garden and valley. The other door takes you into the boiler room with toilet, utility and laundry rooms off. Through them into the kitchen and the "old" dining room with its log effect fire and panelled walls.
Upstairs are four double bedrooms, the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom with separate shower. and the family bathroom is also very well appointed. Back downstairs at the end of the house is the old tack room and the office. With the large double bedroom above them, this could be converted into a separate suite if wanted. Double glazed throughout, well thought out electrics with an abundance of sockets and clever lighting - so much thought has gone in to comfortable living here
Outside even more to admire - the amazing shaped swimming pool with surrounding patio and dining area, I can just imagine the parties on summer evenings ... surrounded by gardens, mainly down to grass with a large selection of fruit and nut trees. The land is currently used for grazing and it would be possible to sell part of it if not required. At the end of the lane, a footpath carries on down the valley to the Charente. In a small hamlet it is about 10 minutes drive to either Civray or Savigné for normal shopping and 1 hour to Poitiers and city life, shops, restaurants, cinemas, rail station and airport with UK flights. ©
